Bobby Lee Lucas is a renaissance man when it comes to the good groove, having enjoyed a career spanning almost 30 years as low end theorist for too many legendary musicians to mention.

He excels at laying down the low, lazy grooves on his main instrument the bass guitar. The rolling bass figure on Mambo Loco carries the entire production and injects a mischievous 12/8 feel into what could otherwise be a classic Latin workout.

Fender Rhodes, acoustic guitar, harp and ARP synth all have their place, as well as some other rather special other ingredients.

The release comes with a breaks-heavy Nick Faber edit and exclusive artwork from the one and only Jimmy Turrell (artwork for Beck, Prodigy, Smoove & Turrell, Glastonbury and much more).

Don’t forget what they say in El Barrio “Donde pongo el ojo pongo la bala”.
