Gold Blend started making bedroom beats at college when a knee injury stopped him playing football for 9 months. Initially inspired by U.S. rappers like Jay-Z and Kanye West he soon developed a taste for UK talent like Kano, Chip and Skepta.
The beats progressed to song writing – something his dad did as a teenager – but after college music took a back seat. “I’d always pick it back up every few months and write a new beat or rap” he explains. “You don’t forget about something you’re so passionate about.”
